35 and still a singleton

I am a neurotic, cynical, lonely, nervous, love-shy, socially inept and frustrated singleton.  To make things worse, I'm in my mid-30's.  I am old enough to qualify for president, but feeling to old to go steady.  Now I know how James Buchanan felt when he was in office why being single.

Most of my friends are either married and have kids or have some kind of significant other.  I am desperate to achieve a relationship.  I regretted not trying harder while in my 20's, but I feel like I have to pay the consequences.

I want my... WTF? The so-called "MTV" Classic.

Since I was a kid, cable channels weren't what they supposed to be.  Formerly artsy/cultured networks like Bravo and A&E now air mostly reality shows, along with E! and TLC.  Now the network that opened the Pandora's box of reality programming has a channel that is meant to reminisce the "good old days". On August 1st, 2016, MTV Classic made its debut replacing VH1 Classic.  There are a few things wrong with it, though: -The good videos (mixed with some crappy ones) are shown only in the morning hours, kind of like MTV and VH1 in the late 90's. -Thanks for airing old episodes of Æon Fluxand, the Maxx, and Daria, but the episodes of Beavis and Butthead were from the recent season, not from the 90's.  MTV Classic should also air Liquid Television, Cartoon Sushi, Celebrity Deathmatch, and The Head. -No movies except for "Beavis and Butthead Do America". UPDATE 3/22/17: Since the beginning of 2017, MTV Classic had dumped the old reality show...

I am so old that today's alternative rock radio is either dead or just plain shit.

From the mid-1990's to the early 2000's, alternative radio was the soundtrack to my younger years.  Here in San Diego, 91X is still the #1 alt.station for over 30 year, but now it is not relevant.  They still overplay Nirvana, Smashing Pumpkins, Bush, blink-182, No Doubt, Foo Fighters, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Muse, Stone Temple Pilots, Green Day, Weezer, Kings of Leon, Linkin Park, The Black Keys, Pearl Jam, etc. like it's used gum.  But they also play recent poppy crap like Kaleo, Twenty-One Pilots, Lorde, recent Coldplay, etc.  Either major radio markets play crap (like here in San Diego) or changed formats (like in Philadelphia, Dallas, and Chicago). History of my favorite defunct stations (and early years of FM 94/9) 92.5 The Flash (XHRM-FM) 1993 - 1998 In 1993, when 91X turned 10, this station made its debut.  It was run mostly by long-forgotten DJs, like Fitz, Bruce Wayne, Big Wave Dave, Randy DeWitt, Todd Kelly, Tom Perry, Bree O'Shea, John Kry...

Horny, shy, picky, naïve, and nervous: a lethal combination

It's an epic conflict between my libido and my mind.  There is a part of me that wants to have sex with anything available, but there's also a part of me that wants to pick a certain one.  I am trying to get laid, but I do have my standards.  Here is a list of things that counter my preferences: -I found a classified ad on Craigslist about a single mom who is looking for a sex buddy.  The downside is that she is five-months pregnant.  I think that she is a slut.  Pregnancy is a major turn-off for single guys. -I am not attracted to BBWs, transsexuals (I need a taco to go along with that attractive body; sorry), junkies, and those who I consider "grenades".  I guess that is one of the reasons why I can't be a gigolo.  I also don't want to be involved with someone who is cheating on her husband or boyfriend.  No strings attached, please. -I am for regulated forms of prostitution like Dennis Hof's brothel in Nevada and the red-light d...
